OTTAWA GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Tries: Jacob Harries – 2
- Converts: Sullivan Murphy – 1
- Penalties: Sullivan Murphy – 2
- Ottawa got their 2022 campaign started on a winning note, defeating Montreal 18-11 Saturday afternoon. Jacob Harries scored both tries for the Garnet and Grey – the first points in his four-year career with the program.
- With the win, Ottawa holds an all-time winning record in regular season play for the first time in program history (10 wins, nine losses).
- The Gee-Gees failed to score four or more tries, and therefore didn't earn the offensive bonus point. The three other teams that won last week earned the bonus point, so Ottawa sits in fourth place on four points, while ETS, McGill and Bishop's each have five.
McGILL GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Tries: Evan Tennant and Alexander Pantis – 2
- Converts: Monty Weatherall – 7
- Penalties: None
- McGill made light work of Carleton in their season opener, winning 56-3 in the Ravens first ever game in the RSEQ.
- Amersham, England product Monty Weatherall again is proving to be one of the conference's top players after playing just three regular season games last year. The 2019 RSEQ Rookie of the Year converted all seven tries he was on the pitch for against Carleton.
- The Redbirds have never lost to Ottawa in conference play. Their winning streak is punctuated by a 37-22 win in the playoff semifinals in 2019.
