Bio

A five-year Gee-Gee from 1992-97, Stella Ighorewo was the program's first player to be named an All-Canadian, earning the honour in both 1995-96 and 1996-97. She was also an OUA All-Star in those seasons, as well as 1993-94 when she led the conference in rebounding.  Her career total of 702 rebounds was the national university record when her playing career was complete. 

Her career total still ranks second in team history, while she retains the team rebounds per game record. She holds the top three spots in team history for single reason rebounds per game and is third and fourth on the single season points per game list, with her best scoring season coming in 1995-96 when she averaged 20.3 points per game while also pulling down 13.1 rebounds per game.

1992-1993: Led the Gee-Gees in rebounding with 72 in 10 games played (7.2 per game). 55 defensive rebounds, 22 offensive rebounds. Scored 74 points to rank fourth on the team. 30/67 on FG. 14/21 on FT. 0 3PT. 7 assists, 3 steals. 

1993-1994: OUA East All-Star. Led the Gee-Gees in rebounding with 120 in 12 games played (10.0 per game). 75 defensive rebounds, 45 offensive rebounds. Scored 175 points to rank second on the team. 78/147 on FG. 19/32 on FT. 0 3PT. 14 assists, 3 steals.

1994-1995: Led CIAU in rebounding. Led the Gee-Gees in scoring and rebounding. Scored 229 points and collected 151 rebounds in 12 games (19.1 pts per game, 12.6 rebounds per game). 107 defensive rebounds, 44 offensive rebounds. 87/175 on FG. 54/76 on FT. 1/2 on 3PT. 17 assists, 18 steals. 

1995-1996:  CIAU All-Canadian and OUA East All-Star. Ranked second in CIAU for rebounding and seventh in scoring. Led the team in scoring and rebounding. Scored 244 points and collected 157 rebounds in 12 games (20.3 points per game, 13.1 rebounds per game). 104 defensive rebounds, 53 offensive rebounds. 92 on FG (.487). 60/ on FT (.811). 0 3PT. 36 asissts, 26 steals.

1996-1997: CIAU All-Canadian and OUA East All-Star. Ranked third in CIAU for rebounding. Led team in scoring and rebounding (17.9 points per game, 11.7 rebounds per game). 18 games played. Broke the previous CIAU career rebounding record of 660 on Feb. 15 and finished her career with 702.
