Bio

Luce Mercier-Coburn may have only played one year for the Gee-Gees but is nevertheless one of the best players to have worn the Garnet and Grey in women’s basketball. The shooting guard is second in the OUA record book for points per game in a career, with an astonishing average of 27.2.

During a weekend road trip to Waterloo and Toronto in January of 1981, women’s basketball’s Luce Mercier-Coburn registered an incredible combined 91 points. On Friday January 16th, she scored 45 points to help her team to a 119-39 blowout against Ryerson, a game that is still tied today for the highest scoring game in OUA history. The following night, she added another 46 points in a 113-46 win over Laurier.
