UPDATE: Gee-Gees varsity teams set to return to competition
In accordance with regional and provincial health guidelines, the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees varsity teams are permitted to resume competition as of Wednesday, Feb. 9.
The teams have been practicing since Jan. 31. The OUA and U SPORTS provided an update on date for their championships on Feb. 3. Details of that announcement can be found HERE.

The women's basketball program will be the first team to resume their regular season, doing so with a home-and-home against the Queen's Gaels on Friday, Feb. 11 and Saturday, Feb. 12. The Friday game will take place in Kingston (5:30 p.m. tip), and the Saturday return leg will be at Montpetit Hall in Ottawa (5:00 p.m. tipoff).
It is a similar story for the men's basketball team, who will be facing the Gaels on the same dates at the same locations. Tipoff for both men's contests is at 8:00 p.m.
The jewel of the basketball schedules, the Capital Hoops Classic against the Carleton Ravens, will take place Friday, Feb. 18 at Carleton. The women's game starts at 6:00 p.m., and the men tip off at 8:00 p.m.
Men's hockey won't be bored, as they are slated to round out their regular season by playing ten games between Feb. 16 and Mar. 12. All the games are against OUA Fast East rivals Concordia, McGill and UQTR. The Gee-Gees travel to Trois-Rivières, Que., on Wednesday, Feb. 16 for a confrontation with the Patriotes, and are back at the Minto Sports Complex Saturday, Feb. 19 to again face the Pats.
The women's hockey schedules resumes Friday, Feb. 18 when the Bishop's Gaiters visit the Minto Sports Complex. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
OUA men's hockey will play a single-elimination playoff bracket, while RSEQ women's hockey will follow the traditional best-of-three format.
Women's volleyball is set to play two games to round out their regular season. The team travels to play McGill on Friday, Feb. 25 and will return to Montpetit Hall on Sunday, Feb. 27 to take on Laval.
The swim team is continuing its preparations for the RSEQ Championship, which will be hosted at the University of Ottawa's Montpetit Hall Aquatic Centre from Mar. 3-5. A dual meet is scheduled with Carleton University for Tuesday, Feb. 22.

All games featuring teams playing in the OUA will be streamed live on OUA.tv. Gee-Gees home games featuring programs playing in the RSEQ will be streamed live on the Gee-Gees YouTube channel.
