NEWS: Newton, Kenney, and Tounkara selected as OUA All-Stars
Three Gee-Gees were recognized by the OUA on Friday as the conference unveiled its OUA All-Stars and Major Award winters for the 2025-26 season.
Brock Newton was named to the OUA Second All-Star team after a memorable final season with the Gee-Gees. A finance major, the Fergus, ON, product led the team with 7.6 rebounds per game while contributing 14.5 points per game.
Last season, Owen Kenney was named to conference and U SPORTS All-Rookie teams. This season, the Psychology student from Barrie, ON, was named to the OUA Third All-Star team. Kenney led the Gee-Gees with 14.8 points per game while reeling in 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
Ottawa local, Justin Tounkara, made an instant impact to the Gee-Gees program, and the OUA. Earning All-Rookie Team honours, the criminology student averaged 6.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. His 28 total steals in the most for a rookie in the conference, and his energetic play has been a welcome asset to the Ottawa squad.
