- Ottawa was in tough last week against first place McGill, losing 31-19. A last-minute try by the Redbirds prevented Ottawa from earning the defensive bonus point for losing by a try or less.
- The Gee-Gees have had success against Bishop's in recent years, winning the teams' last two matchups, including a loud 44-11 victory at Coulter Field last year.
- Reigning conference MVP Jamie Armstrong returned to the starting lineup last week. Armstrong booted two converts in the loss.
BISHOP'S GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Tries: Jack Shaw and Kyle Corrigan – 3
- Converts: Axel Montgomery – 9
- Penalties: Axel Montgomery – 1
- The Gaiters season got off to an eye-popping start, as they soundly defeated the four-time defending champion Concordia Stingers 33-17 on Sept. 11. The Stingers had lost just one game in the RSEQ since the beginning of the 2017 season – a 31-25 decision against McGill in 2021.
- Four Gaiters have earned double digit points this season. No other RSEQ program has had more than three players eclipse the double-digit plateau.
- Bishop's is the only school from outside the Montreal area to have won the conference championship. They have claimed the RSEQ title six times, most recently in 2003.
