WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
-
Ottawa will face two OUA West foes that the team has not played since the 2019-20 season. The matchup with Western proves to be an exciting one as both teams are undefeated to start the regular season.
-
For the Gee-Gees, fifth-year star forward Brigitte Lefebvre-Okankwu looks to continue her strong start to the season, the Gatineau native currently leads the OUA in field goal percentage of 62.3 per cent. The mark also places the 2021-22 All-Canadian second in the nation. Against Western, Lefebvre-Okankwu will receive a good challenge as the Mustangs hold teams to the lowest field goal percentage in the OUA.
-
The defensive pressure that Ottawa puts on their opponents will be key for the Gee-Gees once again. Ottawa currently leads the nation in steals, averaging 15.6 per game, as well as give up the fewest points per game, conceding only 50.6 points per contest.
-
Saturday's game marks the Gee-Gees Think Pink efforts in support of U SPORTS' annual Shoot for the Cure initiative. One dollar from each ticket will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. A raffle and other fundraising efforts will also be underway at Montpetit Hall in support of the cause.
