NEWS: McCarthy and Russell selected as OUA All-Stars, Touloute named OUA’s Champion of EDI award recipient
Three Gee-Gees were recognized by the OUA on Thursday as the conference unveiled its OUA All-Star teams and Major Award winners for the 2025-26 season.
Allie McCarthy earned Second Team All-Star honours from the OUA following a standout fifth season. The Human Kinetics student from Grand Falls, N.B., finished second in the OUA with 21.6 points per game. Her field goal percentage of 49.3 ranked fifth in the conference, and she added 7.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
McCarthy rewrote the Gee-Gees basketball All-Time Regular Season Scoring Record with 455 points during her 2025-26 campaign.
A fellow New Brunswick product, Bailey Russell, was named to the OUA Third All-Star team in her third season with the Gee-Gees. Russell averaged 18.8 points per game, shot 37.5 percent from beyond the arc, ranking fifth in the conference in both categories. She totalled 66 total assists, good for fourth in the OUA.
Enora Touloute was named the Champion of EDI Award Winner, recognizing her commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. On the court, she led the Gee-Gees with 2.5 steals per game while collecting 4.9 rebounds and 5.4 points per game.
The third-year Psychology student from Repentigny, QC., is a leader on the Gee-Gees basketball team, connecting teammates to academic, career and mental health resources, helping normalize the holistic and inclusive support within high-performance environments.
Beyond campus, Touloute has led community initiative, including meal preparation for local shelter and partnerships that intentially support Black-owned businesses. She models what inclusive, athlete-centred leadership looks like.
