OTTAWA GAME NOTES
- Major Stat Leaders
- Goals: Cassandra Provost – 3
- Assists: Trinity Esprit, Angelina Gendreau – 1
- The Gee-Gees took all of two minutes to get their first goal of the 2022 season, and didn't look back in their opening weekend matchups. Ottawa beat Toronto 4-1 on Saturday, Sept. 3 and defeated TMU 5-1 the very next day.
- Cassandra Provost's three goals paces the conference. Provost finished second on the Gee-Gees in goals last season, earning OUA East Rookie of the Year honours.
- Goalkeepers Cassidy Joslin and Juliann Lacasse split time in goal during the first two games. Both keepers allowed one goal apiece.
QUEEN'S GAME NOTES
- Major Stat Leaders
- Goals: Three players tied at 2
- Assists: Jenna Matsukubo and Seema Sakran – 2
- Queen's were shocked in their home opener by the Carleton Ravens last weekend, settling for a 1-1 draw. The goal came on the lone shot allowed by the Gaels in the matchup.
- Jenna Matsukubo will be the dangerous player to watch for Queen's. One of the quickest players in the country, one can expect the Ottawa product to be matched up with the equally pacey Trinity Esprit on Friday.
- The Gaels ended the Gee-Gees 2021 season in the OUA East Final. Despite entering the playoffs undefeated, Ottawa fell to Queen's by a 2-0 score at Matt Anthony Field.

TORONTO GAME NOTES

- Goals: Hannah Chown – 2
- Assists: Karly Hellstrom – 1
- Toronto bounced back from their 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Gee-Gees by topping RMC 3-0. The Varsity Blues outshot the Paladins 17-1 in the match.
- Despite being traditional rivals, Ottawa and Toronto were non-combatants in 2021, having been placed in opposite divisions.
- Karly Hellstrom looks to be the key player for the Varsity Blues this season. Hellstrom had a standout career with Kent State before joining Toronto in the 2022 offseason.
