OTTAWA GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Goals: Cassandra Provost – 5
- Assists: Trinity Esprit and Angelina Gendreau – 1
- It was a rough last weekend for the Gee-Gees, who earned just one point out of their matches against Queen's and Toronto. Ottawa scored only a single goal across the two games, which came off the foot of Cassandra Provost.
- Provost now finds herself alone atop the conference goal scoring race. She is also tied for second nationally.
- This is a rare one-game weekend for the Gee-Gees. There is one other single-game weekend on their calendar – Oct. 23 against RMC.
NIPISSING GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Goals: Three players tied at 3
- Assists: Jennifer Milligan – 4
- Nipissing's impressive start to the season can be taken with a grain of salt. Their stats are inflated by two comfortable wins against Laurentian, including an 11-0 decision in the season opener. Lakers goalkeepers had to make a grand total of two saves across the two matches.
- The Lakers turned in a strong 2021 campaign, finishing with an 8-1-1 record in the OUA Central. The season ended in heartbreaking fashion with a 0-0 penalty kicks loss to Western at home.
- The Gee-Gees lost their first regular season game last week since a 3-1 defeat on Sept. 16, 2018. Their opponent that day at Gee-Gees Field was the Nipissing Lakers.
Tickets for Sunday's game, and all Gee-Gees home games, are available for purchase at tickets.geegees.ca. The game will be streamed live on OUA.tv.
