GAME NOTES:
-
Sherbrooke and Laval are the teams directly ahead of the Gee-Gees in the RSEQ standings. The two matches will be key for Ottawa's chances in moving up toward playoff positioning in the final weeks of the first semester.
-
The Gee-Gees have yet to meet Sherbrooke in the regular season this year, the two teams did meet in the preseason, with Ottawa coming away victorious 3-0.
-
Ottawa defeated Laval 3-1 in Quebec City at the end of October. Audrey Odigie and Avery Hughes finished with 14 and 11 kills each to lead a strong effort for the Gee-Gees.
-
It will be a great defensive battle between two highly ranked liberos in the Laval match, the Rouge et Or's Marie-Nöelle Tremblay leads the conference in digs with 3.93 per set, while the Gee-Gees' Michaela Jones ranks third in the RSEQ with 3.24 per set.
-
Sunday's game marks the team's Dig Pink game, in concert with the Gee-Gees' Think Pink efforts for 2022-23. One dollar from each ticket will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. A raffle and other fundraising efforts will also be underway at Montpetit Hall in support of the cause.
