RECAP: Six Gee-Gees compete at Sherbrooke
The Gee-Gees cross country team had six representatives at the Vert et Or Invitation on Thanksgiving Sunday, with both the men and women running an eight kilometre course.
First-year Gee-Gee Kylee Fowler was the top finisher on the women's side with a 42nd place result and a time of 34:02.3, marking the second straight weekend that Fowler, a human kinetics student from Sudbury, Ont., recorded the top Gee-Gees women's time. Skye Pellerin was next across for the Garnet and Grey in 49th position, with Elana Tyman recording a 55th place finish; all three women's team members at Sherbrooke are in their first year of competing with uOttawa.
Nathan Meraw, a biomedical mechanical engineering student in his second season of competition, led the Gee-Gees men with a 43rd place finish and a time of 27:58.8. Rishab Sahai, a biochemistry student and Gee-Gees rookie from Bowmanville, Ont., was 56th and Ryan May of Nepean, Ont. and a John McCrae Seconday grad, finished 70th in the field of 85 with a time of 29:42.2.
