WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
-
Ottawa will continue their slate of out of division opponents as they host OUA West foe Algoma and travel to OUA Central adversary Brock to close the first semester of action. The Gee-Gees have seen neither team since the 2019-20 season, where both matchups ended in defeat for the Garnet and Grey.
-
Fresh from two strong performances against Western and Windsor, the Gee-Gees rose four spots in the U SPORTS Top 10, climbing to sixth. Ottawa is one of five teams in the nation that are yet to be beaten in the 2022-23 regular season.
-
Algoma currently ranks as the lowest-scoring offence in the OUA, averaging 42.1 points per game. The Thunderbirds also give up more points than any defence in the conference with 85.5. Conversely, Ottawa tops the OUA in defensive points against, limiting opponents to only 51.4 points per contest.
-
Brock is looking to stop a three-game losing slide, however with Carleton and Ottawa coming to town, they will have their hands full. Prior to the last three matchups, the Brock was undefeated. The Gee-Gees will have to play specific focus to second-year guard Madalyn Weinert, who leads her hometown Badgers in nearly every major statistical category.
