Bio

An OUA East First Team All-Star in 1994-95 and 1995-96, Rivard was named the conference's most valuable player in 1995-96. He was also the recipient of the Randy Gregg Award as Oustanding Student-Athlete for the OUA East in 1995-96, and was the University of Ottawa's Athlete of the Year in both 1994-95 and 1995-96. He was a first team All-Canadian in 1995-96.

In his third year with the Garnet and Grey in 1995-96, Rivard recorded a save percentage of .907 alongside a goals against average of 3.39. In 1994-95 he recorded a nation-leading 2.52 GAA and was also tops in save percentage with .930, and three shutouts.

Rivard signed a free-agent contract with the Los Angeles Kings in May of 1996 ahead of the team's trianing camp before spencind the 1996-97 season with the Thunder Bay Thunder Cats of the Colonial Hockey League (later the United Hockey League). In total he played seven seasons in the UHL, finshing with the Rockford IceHogs in 2002-03. He was also a member of the Ottawa Loggers of the Roller Hockey International League.
