GAME NOTES:
-
Returning to the court for 2023, the Gee-Gees are looking to continue the momentum set forth in the final regular season match before the break. Their victory over then #4 McGill, proved that Ottawa could hang with the top teams in the RSEQ. Continuing this against Sherbrooke and Montreal will be key to start the second half of the year.
-
Friday night's matchup with Sherbrooke is key in the standings, as the Vert et Or are sitting just ahead of the Gee-Gees with a 4-6 record. A win will go a long way as the teams battle for playoff positioning in the final stretch of the season.
-
Libero Michaela Jones has been a strong spot defensively for the Gee-Gees, she currently ranks third in the RSEQ in digs, averaging 2.97 per set.
-
Despite losing to Sherbrooke and Montreal in November, the margin of victory for the Gee-Gees opponents was thin. It will be key to see if Ottawa's time spent meshing together will pay off in closing out close sets.
