Wanda Pilon played guard for the Gee-Gees from 1974-79 and remained involved with the program as an assistant coach, head coach, and university staff member for many years.

During her playing career the Gee-Gees twice earned third place finishes in the OWIAA conference and once finished as the OWIAA finalists. She led the Gee-Gees in scoring in the 1977-78 season with 136 points in 15 games, and added 66 assists.

Pilon was an assistant coach in the 1980-81 and the 1983-84 seasons. She then became head coach for the Gee-Gees in 1986 and remained head coach for 11 years, from 1986 to 1997, after which she became assistant athletic director and worked in the alumni office until 2004.

As head coach, her conference record was 58-82 (0.414). She was the longest serving head coach in team history until her record was broken by Andy Sparks in 2019-20.
