Job Description:
The University of Ottawa Recreation and Varsity Sports is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to be the voice of the Gee-Gees teams on select broadcasts for home Football, Soccer, Rugby, Hockey, Volleyball and/or Basketball games.
As a member of the Gee-Gees Varsity Broadcast Team, you will be responsible for play-by-play or color commentary on your selected sports. Working with camera operators and a webcast director, the on-air talent will produce a professional, engaging broadcast for U SPORTS fans around the world. Please note that most events take place on the weekends. The successful candidates will be required to commit to 2-5 hours per event, arriving a minimum of 30 minutes prior to game.
Responsibilities:

Effectively communicate with the audience at home what his happening on the field of play and/or contribute pertinent information on the league, team or sports

Follow the pronunciation guide for names of players and coaches.

Job Description:
The University of Ottawa Recreation and Varsity Sports is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who will be responsible for the in-game music for select Gee-Gees home Football, Soccer, Rugby, Hockey, Volleyball and/or Basketball games.
As part of the Varsity Events Team, the DJ is a key member of the fan experience during our home games. This role will control all music played during the events and adapt the content to the different groups present. This is an exciting opportunity for students to work in an energetic, team-based sport environment. Please note that most events take place on the weekends, and as such applicants must be available to work most weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:

Music for the duration of the event (In-game, warm-up, stoppages)

Create a variety of playlists ahead of events

Job Description:
The University of Ottawa Varsity Athletics is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who will be responsible for producing the webcasts of select Gee-Gees home games such as Football, Soccer, Rugby, Hockey, Volleyball and/or Basketball.
The Webcast Director is responsible for producing a quality webcast with instant replays, multiple cameras, graphics, and in-game segments. This role will harmonize these elements into a smooth broadcast by being proficient with our webcasting equipment and operating it live during games. Please note that most events take place on the weekends, and as such applicants must be available to work most weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:

Job Description:
The University of Ottawa Recreation and Varsity Sports is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who will be responsible for the game day statistics of select Gee-Gees home Football, Soccer, Rugby, Hockey, Volleyball and/or Basketball games. Please specify in your application which sports you have previous statistics experience in.
In this role, the game day statistician will be responsible for the recording and reporting of game stats and/or game clock at the scorer’s table. This position works as a team with other statisticians and the game day staff. Please note that most events take place on the weekends, and as such applicants must be available to work most weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:

Ensuring that game sheets are correctly filled out and signed by coaches and officials before and after the game

Job Description:
The University of Ottawa Recreation and Varsity Sports is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who will be responsible for the announcing of select Gee-Gees home Football, Soccer, Rugby, Hockey, Volleyball and/or Basketball games in addition to some special Recreation and Varsity Sports events.
As a member of the Gee-Gees Varsity Events Staff, you will be responsible for the announcement of information over the in-house PA systems at the scorer’s table: introduction of players, coaches, and officials names; game-related announcements; and sponsorship promotion announcement. Please note that most events take place on the weekends. The successful candidates will be required to commit to 2-5 hours per event, arriving a minimum of 30 minutes prior to game.
Responsibilities:

Announce programs, players’ names, and player substitutions, as well as game-related announcements (such as fouls, goals, penalties, touchdowns, etc.).

Learn to pronounce the names of players, coaches, and officials.

Understand the rules and language of the sport.

Understand emergency protocol to instruct and calm crowds in event of an emergency

Review script and communicate announcements at requested times

Work with the game day minor officials and statisticians, and the DJ to enhance the game day experience of the fans.

The Event Staff team coordinates logistical support for teams and fans whilst providing a safe, enjoyable, and efficiently operated venue for all Gee-Gees varsity home events. In addition, event staff execute multiple facets of the fan experience plan for the different fan groups. This is an exciting opportunity for students to work in an energetic, team-based sport environment at the University of Ottawa. The Mascot will be responsible for entertaining the crowd at the events, while working hand-in-hand with the game day team. The Gee-Gees Mascot engages with the spectators at varsity events and creates an exciting fan experience. This is an amazing opportunity for students to work in an energetic, team-based sport environment at the University of Ottawa. Please note that the Gee-Gees Mascot will mostly be working weekends and evenings at varsity games.
