Since its debut in 2007, the Capital Hoops Classic has played host to some of the highest recorded attendance figures in U SPORTS basketball history. Over 100,000 fans have experienced the incredible rivalry and epic games between the Gee-Gees and Ravens. In 2015 a record 10,780 fans attended the event.

The 15th edition of the Capital Hoops Classic (2022), was scheduled for February 18 at TD Place. Provincial health regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the games being moved to Carleton's Ravens Nest. The games will be played with no tickets available to fans, but the Capital Hoops rivalry will be alive and well. Tune in and watch live on or Rogers 23 at 6 and 8 pm, Friday February 18.

In 2020, the teams met for the 14th edition of the Capital Hoops Classic on Friday, February 7 at TD Place. The Gee-Gees won both games, sweeping the event for the first time.

The Gee-Gees have won the Capital Hoops Classic women's game five times: 2020, 2019, 2015, 2014 and 2012. The Gee-Gees men were victorious in 2020, 2016 and 2007.
