RECAP: #6 men’s rugby showcase depth in Pumpkin Bowl victory
The Gee-Gees men's rugby team travelled across the river to meet with the Carleton Ravens for the 2024 edition of the Pumpkin Bowl. Picking up a 41-10 win over the Ravens, the Gee-Gees improved to 4-1 with one game left on the schedule.
Ottawa took the opportunity to showcase their depth, leaving a large chunk of starters off the roster for the rivalry matchup.
Ryan Plunkett made his return to the lineup following an injury, and instantly made his presence known with a try.
Will Corry, Ben Davis, Ben Holahan, Brett Middleton, Sean Millar, and Emmett Rahiri each added tries to the Gee-Gees score.
Without Glenn Roy dressed for the game, Holahan and Rahiri assumed kicking duties for Ottawa. Holahan logged two converts and Rahiri sent one through the posts.
The 41-10 win is great for the Gee-Gees, but the team will be fighting to lock in second place in the RSEQ heading into playoffs.
