Bio
Marius Felix will be entering his 45th year coaching rugby when the Gee-Gees season starts in the summer of 2025. He joined the uOttawa staff in the fall of 2022 with a focus on preparing the forwards within the broader Gee-Gees team concept.
Marius has coached both men’s and women’s teams during his career, at the high school, club, and representative levels. Born and raised in Victoria BC, he started playing rugby at Glenlyon Prep School in grade 7. He graduated from Brentwood College School in 1977, where he rowed and played basketball ball, hockey and rugby. He played all of his club rugby for the Cowichan Rugby Club in Duncan. His representative rugby honours include the Vancouver Island Crimson Tide, BC Senior Men, and Canada.
Marius has coached senior boys and girls teams at Shawnigan Lake School and Brentwood College in BC and the senior boys team at Sacred Heart High School in Ottawa. He has also been the Head Coach for the Cowichan Rugby Club Senior Men, the Vancouver Island Crimson Tide, the BC Senior Women, the BC U19 Women, the BC Senior Men (forwards coach) the Ottawa Irish Senior Men and the University of Ottawa (forwards coach). He has coached 16 city, provincial, or national championship teams during his career.
He views coaching as a privilege and an opportunity to give back to the game.
