Tokyo Bound: Andrew Todd returns to Paralympic Games
A bronze medal winner at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, Andrew Todd is headed to Tokyo for his second Paralympics.
He was named to Canada's Paralympic rowing team after helping the Canadian PR3 mixed coxed four crew qualify at an event in Italy this June. In Rio, Todd won a bronze medal in the mixed fours event.
Originally from Thunder Bay, Ont., Todd started rowing with the Gee-Gees team in 2007 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from uOttawa.
He is two-time a World Champion in the PR3 pairs event, however that event is not part of the Paralympic Games. Todd was part of the PR3 mixed fours crew that took fourth at the 2019 Worlds.
In 2017, the University of Ottawa presented Todd with a Young Alumni Award, and he was also recognized by Rowing Canada as the Canada Para athlete of the year in 2015.
