RECAP: #1 Gee-Gees fall to #4 Ravens in Bytown Battle at Carleton
The Gee-Gees women's basketball team closed the first half of their 2024-25 season with an 81-59 loss to the fourth-ranked Carleton Ravens on Wednesday night.
Carleton got out to a quick start, jumping out to a 6-0 run, while the Gee-Gees responded, once the Ravens pulled away there was no looking back.
Ottawa was outscored 42-18 through the second and third quarters and despite rallying to win the fourth frame 19-13, Carleton had put the game out of reach.
Natsuki Szczokin was the leading scorer for the Gee-Gees with 21 points, to go alongside six steals and five assists. Emily Payne finished with 13 points and five rebounds, while Allie McCarthy rounded out Gee-Gees scorers in double figures with 12 points and five rebounds.

The Gee-Gees will return to the court for an exhibition matchup with the Bishop's Gaiters on Jan. 4 at Montpetit Hall. Ottawa will resume their OUA regular season in Thunder Bay at Lakehead on Jan. 10.
