The Gee-Gees women's hockey team faced off against Bishop's twice this week, where both teams secured a win on home ice to close the regular season.
Ottawa finishes the 25-game calendar with a 16-7-2 record, good for a winning percentage of .640, the third highest in program history. See below for the list of the top five highest winning percentages in Gee-Gees history.
On Wednesday, the Gee-Gees overtook the Gaiters in Ottawa 4-2.
While the first period was left at no score, the trio of Arianne Gagnon, Alyssa Biesenthal, and Kate Maclean showed up in the second to score two goals for the Gee-Gees. First, Biesenthal scored her 12th goal of the season. Then Arianne Gagnon's shot from the slot resulted in a rebound that she capitalized on with a rush toward the goal.
In the third frame the Gaiters caught up early. With twelve minutes remaining, Alèxe Clavelle scored the game-winner after a full-ice rush with Abygail Moloughney. Clavelle sealed the win with less than a minute to go on the powerplay.

"We had a strong second period and created a lot of scoring chances," said Gee-Gees head coach Chelsea Grills. "It was nice to see the team come together for a push at the end to close out a good performance."
On Friday night, the Gee-Gees traveled to Sherbrooke for round two against the Bishop's Gaiters in overtime by a 3-2 margin.
The Gaiters came out quick, scoring in the first two minutes of play. Only 17 seconds later, however, Sophie Gareau sniped a pass from Gagnon through the goalie's five-hole to even things up.
The second period saw teams battle back and forth across the ice, where Béatrice Bilodeau scored bar down over the goaltender's shoulder to put the Gee-Gees in the lead. The Gaiters tied it up early in the third to send the game into overtime, and eventually won in the shooout.
Both Moloughney and Biesenthal officially etched their names on the Gee-Gees all-time list for goals and points in a single season.
The Gee-Gees now shift their focus to the playoffs. Their best-of-three semifinal series against the Montreal Carabins begins Thursday, Feb. 23 in Montreal, with game two being played in Ottawa on Saturday, Feb. 25. If necessary, a decisive game three goes in Montreal on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Tickets for game two are on sale at tickets.geegees.ca and puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
