- The Gee-Gees women's hockey team had a successful opening weekend in the OUA, picking up two wins against Western (1-0) and Brock (9-1).
- Arianne Gagnon had a breakout start to the season, picking up six points against Brock. Logging a hat trick in the opening period of the game, Gagnon added a fourth goal and two assists to her total.
- Mireille Kingsley had her first games in Garnet and Grey, logging 34 saves and only a single goal against over two games.
