The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees women's hockey team were on the road to take on the Brock Badgers and Guelph Gryphons over the weekend. Starting with a 3-2 win over Brock, Ottawa fell to Guelph 3-0 the following evening.
On Friday night, the Badgers were the first to find the net, but Alyssa Biesenthal was quick to even the score. Florence Lessard added a goal to give the Gee-Gees a 2-1 edge after the first period.
Biesenthal snagged her second of the evening halfway through the second period, linemates Beatrice Bilodeau and Angelique Proulx picked up assists on both of Biesenthal goals.
Brock fired one in on the powerplay (19:12 in the 3rd), but the goal came too late to change the outcome. Ottawa took the 3-2 win.
On Saturday, the Gee-Gees were unable to find the goal against the Gryphons, ultimately falling 3-0 in the matchup.
The Gee-Gees are back on home ice for the rest of 2024, hosting Windsor on Nov. 23 before hosting the Carleton Ravens on Nov. 28. They will close out the opening half of the season at TD Place Arena as they meet with their crosstown rivals for the Colonel By Classic on Nov. 30.
