PREVIEW: Women’s hockey set to host Laurier and TMU in first home weekend of 2025

OTTAWA GAME NOTES 

  • The Gee-Gees closed out 2024 with a three-game winning streak. The team was back on the ice on Saturday for an exhibition game against the Martlets in preparation for the second half of the season
  • Ottawa was quick to shake off the rust, winning 7-4 against McGill.
  • Earlier in the season, the Gee-Gees picked up wins against both their upcoming opponents. Ottawa earned a 6-2 win over Laurier (Nov. 8) and a 4-1 win over TMU (Oct. 25, 2024).

LAURIER GAME NOTES

  • Major stat leaders
    • Goals: Elle Spencer – 5
    • Assists: Arielle MacDonald – 9
    • Points: Arielle MacDonald – 12
    • Wins: Kayla Renaud – 10
  • The Golden Hawks will look to challenge the Gee-Gees defence and goaltending. The visitors lead the OUA with 34.1 shots per game. In their previous meeting, Laurier put up 37 shots against Ottawa's Mireille Kingsley.
  • Laurier closed out 2024 with a pair of wins in their final weekend of action. The team met Guelph for an exhibition game on Saturday where the Gryphons topped the Golden Hawks 4-3.

    • Points: Emily Baxter – 8
    • Wins: Alexia Stratos – 5
  • The Bold have only earned one win on the road this season and will be looking to improve their record on enemy ice against the Gee-Gees.
  • Gaby Gareau was the lone goalscorer in the Bold's first meeting with the Gee-Gees.
