Gee-Gees Women’s Rugby, in partnership with Canadian Tire’s Jump Start Sport Relief Fund, is set to launch its second Leadership, Equity and Athletic Development (LEAD) Program.
LEAD is a comprehensive five-week program consisting of leadership development, character education, rugby skills, and strength and conditioning for any young women in grades 8 to 11.
This Program is designed to support the development of rugby players as young leaders of tomorrow. Each session will consist of rugby skills, strength & conditioning, and leadership development/character education. The Program will be organized and ran by members of the Gee-Gee Women’s Rugby Team, with the leadership development training ran exclusively by Gee-Gees Women of Colour.
With the help of Jumpstart, a set number of registrants with demonstrated financial need will be offered free registration to the Program.
Registration cost: $200
The LEAD Program will be run out of the University of Ottawa sports facilities (Matt Anthony Field) on the following dates: Sept 14th, 21st, Oct 5th, 12th and admission to one Gee-Gee’s game (game TBD).
