The Gee-Gees played host to the Queen's Gaels on Sunday afternoon. The highly anticipated matchup between undefeated teams ended in a 0-0 draw at Matt Anthony Field.
Cassidy Joslin earned the clean sheet for the Gee-Gees, tallying 3 saves. Joslin has yet to allow a goal this season.
"Our goalkeepers don't often get called upon in games but [Joslin] held a couple balls really nice and clean," said Gee-Gees head coach, Steve Johnson.
Although the game was scoreless, Ottawa outshot Queen's by a notable margin, putting up 14 shots to the Gael's 6.
Ottawa was prepared for Queen's quick offence, stopping the likes of Mattson Strickler and Seema Sakran.
"They have a very dangerous attack, especially with some of their new rookies and very fast players up on their wing," Katie Brzozowski, a midfielder for Ottawa said. "I think we did a really good job of shutting them down and not allowing them to have many great chances to score."
"Overall, our defensive performance was good, particularly in the last 45 minutes, we limited them to very few chances," Johnson echoed.
The Gee-Gees remain undefeated with a 3-0-1 record. Next weekend, they'll hit the road to play Trent and RMC on Sep. 30th and Oct. 1st before returning to Ottawa for a Thanksgiving matchup against the Carleton Ravens.
