RECAP: Fournier and Pellerin close Gee-Gees cross country season at U SPORTS National Championship
The Gee-Gees cross country team had two runners compete in the 2021 U SPORTS Championships hosted at the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City on Saturday.
From the men's team, third-year runner Adrian Fournier was Ottawa's representative, who logged a final time of 26:27 in the eight kilometre race. Fournier's time was good enough to place him 61st out of 130 participants.
On the women's side, first-year Skye Pellerin closed her freshman season with a time of 33:13, improving on her time of 33:37 from the OUA Championship. Overall, Pellerin finished 110th out of 128 participants.
In addition to hosting the event, Laval was crowned champions for both men's and women's sides for the second time in their respective histories.
