Bio

Dr. Walter Waddell was a physician with the Gee-Gees from 1962 to 1980 and was inducted to the Gee-Gees Football Hall of Fame in 1995 at the annual touchdown dinner.

He was hired as the team's physician without pay which he agreed to since his desire was to help in any way he could with the football program. For the first few years, he attended most practices and all games, both home and away. He spent countless hours working with the players as his desire to help the program was evident.  After his first season, the Sports Services department at uOttawa attempted to send him a paycheque but Dr. Waddell refused to accept the sum, once again displaying his generosity towards the program.

He was highly regarded and respected by everyone around him and will be remembered by all as a genuine man always ready to give a hand.
