Bio

Jim was the head football coach for the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees from 1985-1990, and led his team to the Dunsmore Cup final in 1989.

Coach Daley, originally from Ottawa, has been affiliated with the Canadian Football League for over 23 years. In 1991, he became the first Canadian CIS Head Coach to accept a position on a CFL coaching staff by joining the Ottawa Rough Riders. His involvement with 7 different teams includes guiding the 1997 Saskatchewan Roughriders to the Grey Cup finals as the head coach and winning a Grey Cup championship as a member of the Calgary Stampeders’ staff in 2001. He was also part of the 2010 Grey Cup final, being the Special Teams Coordinator of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  Jim has also served as Director of Officiating for the Canadian Football League in 2007.

Prior to joining the Gee-Gees football program, Jim led the Ottawa Sooners to success as well, winning the the 1984 Little Grey Cup title. Daley also coached at St. Pat’s and St. Pius X High Schools in Ottawa where he won championships with both programs.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University.
