Brigitte Lefebvre-Okankwu of the women's basketball team and Dominic Cormier of the men's hockey team are named Gee-Gees Athletes of the Week.

Brigitte Lefebvre-Okankwu proved once again to be one of the most dominant forwards in the nation with an outstanding weekend performance against Laurentian and Nipissing. The third-year Biomedical Science student tallied 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals on Friday night in a win over the Voyageurs. On Saturday, Lefebvre-Okankwu led the U SPORTS third-ranked Gee-Gees women's basketball team to a win against the Lakers, posting an eye-popping 28 points and seven rebounds on 75 per cent shooting. Lefebvre-Okankwu currently ranks second in the OUA in field goals (79), fourth in field goal percentage (50.6), fourth in steals (29), and 10th in points per game (14.7).

In his first season with the men's hockey team, Dominic Cormier continues to be a key player for the Gee-Gees in all aspects of the game. The Moncton, NB product recorded five assists over the past week, including a three-point performance against RMC on January 8. Cormier now has points in four straight games, and leads the OUA in points by a rookie defenceman with 20 (3-17—20) in 21 games played.
