- The Gee-Gees picked up a pair of wins in their season opening weekend. Coming out victorious after two wins on home ice, the Ottawa squad showed they have a great base to work from.
- Vincent Labelle and Mathieu Desgagnes quickly put together four points apiece over the weekend, contributing heavily in both matchups. A handful of other Gee-Gees lead the way in playmaking contributions, including captain Anthony Poulin and newcomer Zach Giroux
- Already taking down the Ridgebacks once this season, the Gee-Gees will look to repeat the outcome while playing a tighter game. Last season, Ottawa picked up a pair of wins over York, but in their second meeting, the Lions didn't make it easy, forcing an overtime.

- The Ridgebacks will look forward to their home opener, and to have the home rink edge over the Gee-Gees in their rematch.
