- Ottawa finds themselves on a two-game winning streak after soundly defeating the Carleton Ravens 55-7 to capture the Pumpkin Bowl last week. It was the first meeting between the schools in RSEQ competition.
- ETS is the only school (save for Carleton as of last week) that the Gee-Gees have never lost to in RSEQ competition.
- With his try against the Ravens, James Flemming moved into sole possession of second place on the program's all-time RSEQ try list. Flemming's seven tries are now one ahead of Elias Hancock, but still four behind Duncan Hladik.
ETS GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders
- Tries: Éloi Pinon – 5
- Converts: Tom Saurin – 16
- Penalties: Magla Lilaïle Tindame – 3
- Simply put this has been by far the best season in the history of the ETS program. The Piranhas showed signs of improvement in recent years, but had yet to put up a winning season in the history of their program – they won all of two games between 2001 and 2007, promptly dropping out of the Quebec conference before returning in 2015. That will change in 2022…and the season is barely half over.
- Tom Saurin is second in the conference in scoring with 45 total points (two tries, 16 converts, three penalties). He trails Axel Montgomery of Bishop's by one point.
- ETS was pushed for the first time last week, squeaking out of 23-21 win over Bishop's on the road. The Piranhas most impressive showing was a 25-8 road win against the four-time defending champs from Concordia on Sept. 18.
The game will be streamed live by ETS HERE, and live updates will be provided on @GeeGeesMRUG on Twitter.
