- Matchup: #7 Ottawa Gee-Gees (4-1) vs #4 ETS (5-0)
- Location: Collège Notre-Dame
- Kickoff: 6:00 p.m.
- Last meeting: Ottawa 31, ETS 24 – Oct. 29, 2022 at Matt Anthony Field
The Gee-Gees are gearing up for what is sure to be a battle of the titans. Saturday's matchup is a highly anticipated meeting between the top teams in the RSEQ. ETS has yet to lose in the 2023 season but had a close call against Concordia. Ottawa fell to Concordia earlier in the season, but have not waivered otherwise, earning historic wins over McGill, and reclaiming the Pumpkin Bowl from Carleton.
OTTAWA GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders:
- Tries: Andres Dionisopoulos – 4
- Converts: Glenn Roy – 18
- Overall, the Gee-Gees have a very strong season. Even in their loss to Concordia earlier in the season, Ottawa proved themselves as a physical and tactical threat, falling 40-31 in their only loss of the year.
- Glenn Roy leads the RSEQ with 64 points. His leg has been stellar for the Gee-Gees, successfully making 18 converts and adding a pair of tries to his stat line.
- The last time the Gee-Gees met ETS was in the RSEQ semi-final. Saturday's game promises to bring the intensity of a playoff game.
ETS GAME NOTES
- Major stat leaders:
- Tries: Hector Soulier – 8
- Converts: Jules Normandin – 9
- After falling in the RSEQ semi-final at the hands of Ottawa last season, ETS has turned heads with a 5-0 run through the regular season schedule. Earning decisive wins over the conference, Ottawa is their final test before playoffs.
- Their closest game so far was a 26-20 win over the Stingers, where they gave up six points in penalties. ETS squeaked out the win, but not without showing that they are beatable.
- This could be a grudge match for ETS as they had their 2022 season ended by the Gee-Gees, they'll remember the likes of Jamie Armstrong, Graeme Neill-Klein and Glenn Roy who each scored tries in the RSEQ final game and are back in the Gee-Gees lineup.
