RECAP: Gee-Gees swim caps off regular season with strong showing at Laval

RSEQ Cup 3, which was originally scheduled as a home meet for the Gee-Gees swimmers back in October, was rescheduled for January 17 at Sherbrooke.
Davide Casarin led the way in point scoring with 650.5, second most among men, as the team placed third overall. The women's team placed third in the team rankings, while the men's team lead the pack with 379 points.
Casarin was among five Gee-Gees on the men's team to earn multiple medals. Allen Zheng and Thomas Boyd earned a bronze and silver medal, respectively. Nathan Schiffman earned two silver medals in his first competition with the Gee-Gees. William Barrett took home a gold, silver and bronze medal, while Casarin earned two golds and two silvers.
Delphine Vandal led the way on the women's team with two silvers and a bronze medal. Abby Simms earned two silver medals, while Lauren Shearer earned two bronze medals.

The following day, the Gee-Gees returned to the pool to compete in the RSEQ Cup 4, the final event of the regular season.
It was another strong showing for the Garnet and Grey, with 16 Gee-Gees medalling at the event.
Davide Casarin added to his haul on the weekend with two gold and a silver medal. William Barrett earned two silvers and a bronze medal. Conor Smyth and Allen Zheng each earned a silver and bronze medal, while Louis Bertrand and Nathan Schiffman each won a silver medal. Aleksandar Plackoski and Noah Wagner also reached the podium with a bronze medal.
On the women's side, Delphine Vandal added more hardware to her collection, with a silver medal and two bronze. Talea Claassens, Alina Juuti, Morgan McCartney, Mayhève Rondeau, Lauren Shearer, Abby Simms, and Adelle Yamashita-Ball all earned bronze medals to help propel the team to a third place finish in team scoring.
