RECAP: Gee-Gees stumble against Stingers in home opener

The Gee-Gees came out strong in the first period and traded good scoring opportunities with the Stingers but neither team could find the back of the net as they went into the first intermission locked at 0-0.
The battle continued early in the second but, this time each team was able to score within the first five minutes of the period. The uOttawa goal was scored by Roxanne Rioux with the assist coming from Mélodie Bouchard.
The Stingers began pulling away midway through the second period with two goals. They then sealed the deal early in the third to go up 4-1 and put the game out of reach.
Gee-Gees goalie Jennifer Walker was impressive in her Gee-Gees debut as she turned aside 41 shots.
Ottawa's next game is Saturday the 27 of October, at home against the McGill Martlets (1-0) at 2 p.m.
