JANUARY 19 at McGILL
Katherine Birkby's first goal of the season opener the scoring for the Gee-Gees just three minutes into the game.
The goal was the first of a back-and-forth period. McGill answered back to tie the game midway through the period, then Marimée Godbout-Parent restored the lead two minutes later.
It took McGill just 70 seconds to tie the game once more.
With 40 seconds remaining in the period, Mélodie Bouchard buried her own rebound for the 3-2 lead.
McGill tied the contest for a third time just 90 seconds into the second period with a power play goal.
Meagan McGaughey found the back of the net midway through the second period, giving the Gee-Gees the lead for the fourth time.
An insurance goal from Alice Fillion—her team-leading eighth of the season—gave Ottawa a two-goal lead six minutes into the third period.
While McGill pulled within one goal with five minutes remaining in the game, Alexa Gibson stood tall to shut down the Martlets' attack and clinch the victory.

- Alexa Gibson earned her first career win in her first career start in Garnet and Grey. She stopped 33 of 37 shots in the contest.
- Mélodie Bouchard recorded a goal and an assist, inching closer to a career milestone of 100 points. She needs four more points to reach the plateau.

The Gee-Gees will return to the Minto Sports Complex for a rematch with McGill on January 25 at 2 p.m. On Sunday, they'll travel to Montreal to take on the Montreal Carabins.
