The Gee-Gees women's hockey team extended their win streak to three games with a pair of wins over McGill and Montreal on January 25 and 26.
JANUARY 25 vs. McGill
The Gee-Gees were resilient over the course of their Saturday afternoon game against McGill, overcoming multiple deficits along the way.
McGill opened the scoring early in the second period. Christine Deaudelin answered for the Gee-Gees, scoring her second of the season at the midway point of the period to tie the game.
McGill took the lead once more, capitalizing on a scoring chance just 90 seconds into the third period.
Rookie Alexe Clavelle scored her first career goal, tying the contest at two goals apiece with six minutes remaining in regulation.
Ottawa had a key chance to take the game in the first overtime, with an infraction against McGill granting them a five-on-four power play.
While they were unsuccessful on the advantage, they we're going to let it slip away twice.
Mélodie Bouchard converted on another power play with just seconds remaining in the second overtime to take the game by a score of 3-2.
JANUARY 26 at MONTRÉAL
The following day, the Gee-Gees traveled to Montréal to take on the Carabins.
Christine Deaudelin scored for the second consecutive day, opening the scoring for the Gee-Gees midway through the second period.
The Carabins tied the game up just five minutes later.
Deaudelin then set up Meagan McGaughey for a power play goal early in the third period. McGaughey's second of the season stood as the game winner.
The defence core was sharp for the Gee-Gees, foiling all three of the Carabin's power play chances and holding them to just one goal on 33 shots.
