Moloughney and Bilodeau honoured by RSEQ
An electrifying season led to two Gee-Gees being selected for conference honours in 2022-2023. Abygail Moloughney was named an RSEQ First Team All-Star and Béatrice Bilodeau earned a spot on the conference All-Rookie team.
Moloughney was among the league leaders in points and goals scored this season, making an impact on the Gee-Gees team record book as well. Her 16 goals ranked second in RSEQ and tied for fourth in U SPORTS this season, while landing third in Gee-Gees program history.
Moloughney added 11 assists to finish with 27 points which ranked fifth in the conference and sits fourth in team history. The senior forward is just the second Gee-Gees player to score 15 or more goals in a season, and only the third to log over 25 points in a season. Moloughney played four seasons with Syracuse (NCAA) before suiting up in Garnet and Grey this season and beginning her Master's degree in Education.
Béatrice Bilodeau, a human kinetics student from Sainte-Marie, Que., contributed to the Gee-Gees strong offensive output this season. The forward netted four goals and four assists in her first year at the university level. Bilodeau was an RSEQ Award winner in 2021-2022 with Cégep Limoilou, earning the league's sportsmanship award.
The Gee-Gees as a team recorded 2.92 goals per game en route to a 16-7-2 regular season record, establishing a new team high for most wins in a regular season. Notably, the team's 2.12 goals allowed per game was the second best in team history, trailing only the 2005-06 team which posted a 1.80 mark.
