PREVIEW: Gee-Gees to defend Alerts Cup at Colonel By Classic

The Gee-Gees women's hockey team is set to take on the Carleton Ravens for the third time this season, but this time, they'll be on a much bigger stage. Meeting at TD Place, the crosstown rivals will battle it out for the Alerts Cup which is currently in the Gee-Gees possession.
Before the Colonel By Classic, the Gee-Gees will be in Montreal to take on the McGill Martlets on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday, November 17

- The Gee-Gees are coming off a huge game with the #1 team in the country, the Concordia Stingers. Falling 5-4 in double-overtime, Ottawa showcased that they're serious competitors.
- Maëlle Laplante had a four-point weekend that included two goals against the Stingers, and a few assists to round out her performance.
- Against the Ravens, the Gee-Gees are split this season. In their first meeting in October, Ottawa left Carleton no chance with a 5-0 win. They most recently competed on Nov. 4 where the double-overtime game ended 2-1 in favour of the Ravens.

- The Ravens are set to take on the undefeated Concordia Stingers on Saturday before returning to Ottawa to take on the Gee-Gees.
