PREVIEW: #3 women's rugby set to host Concordia for thrilling RSEQ semi-final
Saturday, October 14
- Matchup: #3 Ottawa Gee-Gees (5-1) vs #8 Concordia Stingers (4-2)
- Location: Matt Anthony Field
- Kickoff: 4:00 p.m.
- Last meeting: Ottawa 38, Concordia 10, September 30, 2023
After a season opening loss to Laval, Ottawa threw on cruise control for the rest of the regular season. Going on a five-game win streak that included three shutouts, the Gee-Gees secured second place in the RSEQ standings, earning the rights to host their RSEQ semi-final matchup.
A win would clinch the Gee-Gees ninth consecutive U SPORTS National Championship tournament appearance where they look to claim their eighth straight medal. Of course, the RSEQ Championship would come first. In the last five years, the Gee-Gees have matched with Laval in the RSEQ Championship game. If both teams win on Saturday, we'd see another rematch between the Gee-Gees and Rouge et Or.
