The uOttawa women's soccer team dropped their first points of the season Monday afternoon against the Carleton Ravens after a convincing win two days prior.
Ottawa proved no match for their cross-town rivals Saturday at Matt Anthony Field, emerging 3-0 victors, but Carleton played tight defence in the return leg and earned a 1-1 draw.
The scoring on Saturday was opened by rookie Sadie Sider-Echenberg. The Ottawa product placed an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net with her left foot for her first career OUA goal.
Moments before halftime, the Gee-Gees drew a penalty and Emma Lefebvre converted the spot kick. It was the 30th career regular season goal for the fifth year, Kingston, Ont., product.
"I'm so lucky to play for such a talented team," said Lefebvre when asked about the milestone. "We play so well together. Although I'm the one on that list, my teammates helped me get there, so I'm really thankful for that."
Lefebvre becomes just the sixth Gee-Gees to reach the 30-goal plateau, joining Pilar Khoury, Julia Francki, Valerie May, Courtney Luscombe and Isabelle Lessard.
Cassandra Provost capped off the scoring with a header off an Adriane Devlin free kick, giving Ottawa a 3-0 win.
The offence didn't come quite as easily for the Garnet and Grey on Monday at the Ravens Perch. Despite dominating possession and having numerous clear-cut chances, they couldn't find the back of the net.
Carleton opened the scoring in the second half by potting a rebound following a free kick.
The Gee-Gees salvaged a draw thanks to Angelina Gendreau's first goal of the season in the 83rd minute. Gendreau got loose in the Carleton penalty area and finished off a pass from Lefebvre.
Cassidy Joslin played the full 180 minutes in goal for Ottawa, earning her third clean sheet of the season Saturday.
The Gee-Gees will enjoy a weekend homestand starting Friday, Oct. 15 with a match against RMC (0-4-1), following by a visit from Ontario Tech (0-5-0) on Sunday, Oct. 17.
