The Gee-Gees finished the regular season home schedule with a pair of wins while Cassandra Provost broke the program's regular season goal record she set last year.
"Cassandra has been fantastic for us this year," head coach, Steve Johnson said. "She's our leading goal scorer and she helps distribute the ball amongst our wingers and midfielders, and one thing I've always appreciated is how hard she works on the field."
On Saturday, TMU visited Matt Anthony Field for a rematch with Ottawa. The game ended in a 7-0 win in favour of the Gee-Gees. The next day, Ontario Tech was the opponent for Ottawa's final regular season home game of the year. The Gee-Gees earned a 4-0 victory while celebrating seniors Adriane Devlin, Florence Laroche, and Provost.
Provost opened the scoring against TMU. Following an incredible corner kick that went directly into the net by Allana Oriente. Provost sent the ball past the TMU keeper to score her 18th goal of the season, tying her previous record.
Sabrina Mangiaracina was next to find the back of the net, closing the opening half with a deep boot. Provost scored the next two, officially breaking her 2022 record. Oriente topped it off with the seventh goal of the afternoon.
The Gee-Gees had another dominant performance on Sunday, this time, against a team they hadn't seen before. Maya Smith and Nibo Dlamini each scored goals for the Gee-Gees in the first half with the help of Oriente. Provost made sure to add a pair of her own.
Devlin, captain of the Gee-Gees team, credited the team's success to their training and preparation.
"We try and keep our training as high intensity as possible," said Devlin. "We make sure that everyone is having a good time but that's it's 100 per cent effort and leave everything on the field during training and games."
Ottawa only has two more games remaining in the regular season and will hit the road to take on Nipissing and Laurentian on Oct. 21 and 22 before shifting gears to playoffs.
