- Ottawa dropped their first two matches of the season last weekend, losing 3-1 to Montreal and 3-0 to Sherbrooke.
- The Gee-Gees were clinical on the attack in sets two and three against the Carabins, committing just two attacking errors across both frames.
- Three Gee-Gees made their first career appearances against Montreal in the season opener: Janae McKay, Maxim Langevin and Nicole Wernham.
- McKay led the team in blocks with three, while Langevin's 4.33 kills-per-set are tops on the Gee-Gees.

- The Patriotes have lost their first two matches, but took UQAM to five sets in their season opener.
- Alissa Veilleux has been impressive for the Pats, holding a share of the team lead in kills, digs and assists per set.
- This is UQTR's first season in Division 1 of the RSEQ, and thus this is the first matchup between the two programs.
- The program won three consecutive RSEQ Division 2 titles from 2016-17 through 2018-19. They had an 11-1 record in the 2019-20 regular season, before the playoffs were cancelled due to COVID-19.
