February 24, 2023
Senior left side attacker Grace McKale was named an RSEQ Second Team All-Star last week, capping off a strong all-around season which saw her set career highs in multiple stat categories.
McKale, a fourth-year biopharmaceutical science student from Cold Lake, Alta., led the Gee-Gees in service aces this season, recording 21 total (0.33 per set), and added career highs in kills per set (1.79), digs per set (1.67), blocks per set (0.32), and overall points per set (2.4).
McKale played in 63 of Ottawa's 65 sets in 2022-23, and led the team in total attacks. She was second on the Gee-Gees in digs and tied for second on the team in solo blocks.
This is the first conference award for McKale, whose rookie season in the RSEQ was in 2018-19.
