RECAP: Brennan leads Gee-Gees at Hoffman Invitational

Six members of the Gee-Gees cross country team competed at the 27th Annual Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational, hosted by St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY on Saturday. On the women's side, all three team members finished in the top 12 in the field of 64.
Rebecca Brennan was a close second in the 6km event, sprinting to the finish with only herself and the first place runner in the vicinity. The fourth-year Gee-Gee and social sciences student finished less than three seconds back of the event winner with a time of 22:49.63. Rennée Maisonneuve, a common law student from Timmins, Ont. who previously competed at West Virginia, was a part of the next group of finishers and grabbed fourth with a time of 23:04.06. Keili Shepherd ranked 12th at 23:46.15.
Three Gee-Gees men competed in the 8km event, with third-year human kinetics student Nicholas Roberts the top finisher in tenth with a time of 26:56.86. First-year Stephen Robinson, from London, Ont., was close behind in twelfth position with a time of 27:05.60, and fellow freshman Adrian Fournier was just over the 28-minute mark for a 23rd place finish.
