1960-1961 OSLAA Champions
The Loyola College Warriors had won the Ottawa-St. Lawrence Intercollegiate Athletic Association hockey crown for the previous ten seasons before Rocky Robillard's University of Ottawa team took the title in 1960-1961. It was Ottawa's return to the Ottawa-St. Lawerence league and to intercollegiate competition, marking a new era in Gee-Gees hockey with a championship team.
Robillard was named the coach in June of 1960. "A native of the Captial, Robillard, 37, starred for St. Pat's and later RCAF teams during the Second World War. He went on to McGill, where he captained the hockey Redmen until 1958, when he was appointed teacher of physical education at Fisher Park High School, in Ottawa." - The Ottawa Citizen, Jun 29, 1960. The same article also describes Robillard as "well-known in college circles across Canada."
