Bio

Cam Baird was one of the best all-around athletes ever to play and study at the University of Ottawa. He was the 1989 Ontario-Quebec Intercollegiate Football Conference MVP, and conference nominee for the Hec Crighton Trophy.

He was the number one high school quarterback from Ontario in 1985 and spent five years playing for the Gee-Gees (1985-1990), four as a starter. He was a three-year football captain in addition to being a goaltender with the Gee-Gees men's hockey team. If that was not enough he was also offered a contract to play for a Second Division soccer team in Scotland but elected to stay in Canada.  

Baird, who played quarterback in addition to kicking and punting with the team, was named an all-star at all three positions (1988, 1989, and 1990). 

In 1989 he led CIAU in points scored with 101. He totalled five touchdowns, 15 field goals, 19 converts, and 4 safeties. He completed 87 of 167 passes for 1132 yards with six passing touchdowns.

After graduating, Baird began a career as a high school teacher, working at Ottawa's Colonel By Secondary School and coaching football.
