Bio

Born February 12, 1942, John Thompson played four years as a linebacker and running back. He played alongside five future CFL draftees: Jim Allen, Paul Benoit, Glen Robinson, Earl Blackladder and Paul Desjardins. In his first two years, the team won all 14 of its regular season games and captured consecutive conference and league titles.

After receiving his undergraduate degree, John went on University of Western Ontario to pursue an MBA. While there, he put in a few downs of football as an offensive lineman. In 1986, he and two other entrepreneurs started a merchant bank in Toronto of which he was later named president. Now retired, John is also the former Chairman of Pembridge.
